Has anyone connected their Axim to a Sprint PCS cellphone?
Hi everyone!! Good morning.

I have a Samsung 8500 Sprint PCS cell phone (2nd Generation) and was wondering if anyone had the settings for dialing onto Sprint's network to get online. I want to make sure I can get the proper info and settings before I buy a $40 cable from Gomadic.com

Thanks for the input,
DAve

I have a 3rd generation Sprint cell phone, I don't know the proper procedures. I'm sure you can find them at www.sprintusers.com. Just so you know Sprint does watch very carefully for the usage of cell phones as modems and will bill you accordingly for the service. Good Luck.

I've used the previous model Samsung phone just fine with my Gomadic cable connecting to the Sprint PCS network. Here are the settings that I used to connect to my ISP:

Connection Name: ComQube
Modem: Hayes Compatible on COM1
Baud Rate: 19200
Data Bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: Hardware

Everything else is standard ISP setup. This works for me. I am using X5 Advanced running PPC2002.

Thanks for the settings. Which model phone do you connect with? How does the 14.4K transfer speed work with the Axim's online applications? (like Pocket IE, Inbox). How exactly do you dial once the cable is connected and modem is installed?

Sorry about the "20 Q's", I really appreciate the help.

I'm also considering hooking up my LG250 from Sprint as a modem.
Does it matter what plan you have?
How much extra do they charge you?
