Monterey Bay Aquarium is Wild About Otters
One of the best experiences I have had in my quest to Experience Mobility was a visit to California and making a stop at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was an inspirational day looking at what the folks at the aquarium have done to present to the visitors the wonders of the ocean. Of course, a big part of the California coast is the Otter population and the aquarium now has a new exhibit called Wild About Otters.
I was pleased to see that Otter Products, LLC.is a supporter of the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s latest exhibit. Wild About Otters is a dynamic and interactive display featuring 10 freshwater otters and species that share their habitats. The exhibit illustrates the importance of clean water and conservation of lakes, rivers and oceans.
“We are thrilled to take part in such a great cause,” said Curt Richardson, CEO of Otter Products, LLC. “The Monterey Bay Aquarium provides a great resource for educating people about this incredible species.”
“As the symbol for our company, the otter serves as an inspiration with its fun, active personality. We look forward to playing an active role in the exhibit to help protect otters around the world,” explains Richardson.
So why do I mention this? Well if you are going to California and will be in the Monterey area, then you might want to take a day and visit the aquarium. OtterBox will be giving away 200 complimentary tickets to Wild About Otters as well as donating sale proceeds to the aquarium during the year. The company plans to give away cases to visitors on “World Ocean Day,” June 9, as well as attend and donate cases during “Otter Days,” September 22 and 23.
The aquarium is located on historic Cannery Row in Monterey. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and in summer and major holiday periods from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed Christmas Day). Summer hours include extended weekend hours, from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, between May 26th and September 3rd.
More information about Wild About Otters and the aquarium in general is available online at www.montereybayaquarium.org; or by calling 831-648-4888. The mission of the Monterey Bay Aquarium is to inspire conservation of the oceans.

PDAir Aftermarket Cradle : O2 XDA Atom Life
The only thing that bothers me about HTC devices is that they do not include a docking cradle. With the PDA world, the Dell Axim and HP iPaqs, you always got one. You get spoiled for a cradle. Now that we aren't getting them with these new devices, companies like PDAir jump in and offer suitable solutions. PDAir has just released one for the o2 XDA Atom Life today.

Proporta SanDisk Sansa Express Accessories
The SanDisk Sansa Express is the latest device to be added to SanDisk’s MP3 player selection. Hailed as the first flash based MP3 player with direct USB connection, the Express is proving to be a great little device for listening to your music, the radio, or even your personal recordings whilst on the move.
Unfortunately, due to the slim and lightweight design of the device, the SanDisk Sansa Express is left vulnerable to damage. Proporta has taken note, and has designed a case and screen protector to completely encase the MP3 player, without interfering with the sound quality of the device.
The Proporta Alu-leather Case (SanDisk Sansa Express) is a definite must have for protecting your MP3 player against the day to day impacts your MP3 player is likely to encounter. Proporta creates this supreme protection by incorporating their trademark ‘screen saver system’ which uses a sheet of lightweight aircraft grade aluminium to line the case, perfectly protecting against crushing and impact shocks.
Proporta can also protect your SanDisk Sansa Express screen from hazards such as scratches, scrapes and the natural oils from your skin, with the Advanced Screen Protector (SanDisk Sansa Express). Made from ultra high clarity plastic, the screen protector is easy to apply, washable and replaceable and also reduces glare from overhead lighting.
P.S. Share your music with friends and family by listening to your MP3 player on your car or home stereo, using the handy Proporta Wireless FM Stereo Transmitter
Options ... The Search Begins
With the impending arrival of the iPhone, options based upon your preferences to make the experience just a little better is a high priority. Melodeo has a option for you to consider and it is its music service from iTunes playlists. Melodeo Inc. indicated that it plans to help you with your iTunes collection by streaming songs in personal libraries to mobile phones. How will they do this?
Reuters reported that Melodeo, which already delivers Web-based audio clips to phones, said the service -- now in test mode -- would stream songs to cell phones for music fans who provide it with a list of the songs stored in personal libraries that use iTunes, Apple Inc's digital music software.
The idea of the service, which comes ahead of Apple's expected launch this month of its music-playing iPhone, is to let consumers who have digital music libraries listen to digital music on the go without a portable player.
What is Melodeo? They call it the Mobile Media Solution.
Melodeo is dedicated to bringing consumers the best selection of on-demand audio and video programs for the Web and mobile phone. Their integrated system of a phone client, back-end operations and a huge content library makes us a turn-key partner able to seamlessly deliver music, news, weather and much more.

HTC Touch Delivers New Touch Screen Experience
HTC Device Signals New Direction In Finger Touch Navigation
HTC Corp., the world’s leading provider of Microsoft Windows Mobile-based smart devices, today announced the global launch of the HTC Touch, a deceptively small and stylish mobile phone that ushers in an innovative new concept in intuitive touch screen navigation. The HTC Touch brings a new level of simplicity to the powerful and function-rich device experience that today’s mobile consumers demand.
Building on its rich ten year history of mobile phone innovations, the HTC Touch represents extensive research and development and the conviction that fingertip control will enable more efficient, natural and intuitive touch screen navigation. The groundbreaking HTC Touch offers a new and unique way of controlling touch screen-based devices by recognising and responding to the sweep of a finger across the screen. It is even intelligent enough to distinguish between finger and stylus input and then respond accordingly.
“With the HTC Touch, access to your most commonly used content, contacts and features is only a simple finger flick away,” said Peter Chou, chief executive officer of HTC. “Mobile phone makers have done a great job of cramming ever-more exciting features into ever-smaller phones. But the way in which one accesses these increasingly sophisticated features has not kept pace. That ends today with the HTC Touch.”
Smart, stylish and versatile, the HTC Touch brings together a wide variety of communication, entertainment and professional capabilities that enable mobile consumers to balance work and play. The new HTC-designed homescreen provides one-touch access to emails, text messages, calendar appointments and contacts, as well as current weather conditions and forecasts for hundreds of cities around the world.
The HTC Touch is the first device to feature TouchFLO, the new underlying touch screen technology developed by HTC. Consumers simply sweep their finger up the display to launch an animated, three-dimensional interface comprising three screens: Contacts, Media and Applications. The interface can be spun by swiping a finger right or left across the display, providing efficient access to the features consumers use most. TouchFLO also enhances finger touch scrolling and browsing of Web pages, documents, messages and contact lists.

SanDisk Launches 64 Gigabyte Solid State Drives ...
... for Notebook PCs, Meeting Needs for Higher Capacity
New Products on Display at Computex 2007, Taiwan's International Information Technology Show
Reaching for the "sweet spot" of memory storage for laptop computers, SanDisk Corporation expanded its line of solid state drive (SSD) products with the introduction of a 64-gigabyte (GB)(1) SSD aimed at both enterprise users and early adopter consumers such as gamers. SanDisk 1.8-inch UATA 5000 and 2.5-inch SATA 5000 SSD products, which already are available in a 32GB capacity, are compatible as drop-in replacements for hard disk drives in most mainstream notebook computers.
"Laptop manufacturers have requested more memory capacity for systems that use the Microsoft Vista platform, which can require a number of preloaded accessories and security suites," said Doreet Oren, SanDisk director of SSD product marketing. "Also, there is interest in developing laptops for gaming, and the SSD is well-suited for the performance and memory requirements of those users. Thus, by offering greater capacities on our SSD products, we are making our products more appealing to a wider customer base."

Blackjack Windows Mobile 6 ROM Leaked
Mike Temporale from Smartphone Thoughts put it better than I could ever put it. I think that it's a shame that people hack these ROMS. When something like this happens, it's both good and bad for me. I like the fact that the ROM is out there because it means that people that are waiting to legally obtain this upgrade should see something soon, but at the same time, those that cheat/steal get the goods before the honest folks.
I'm not sure why this is becoming such a common thing, but once again we're seeing a leaked ROM released on the internet before the carrier and device manufacturer has had a chance to finalize all the details. I'm not going to link to the ROM since it's far from official. I'm sure the resourceful amoung you will be able to find it (anyone linking to the ROM will have their posts removed). From what we've learned, this ROM is very close to the finished product. It's fully AT&T branded and everything seems to be working. The only exception is getting the alternate characters when you press and hold a key. Not too big a deal, in my opinion.

15 Wants and Desires from a Global Nomad
My good friend Andy Abramson is a true "Global Nomad" traveling from here to there and back again and has over time decided what he wants in a hotel before he books a room. Andy will admit that he is a "high maintenance" sort of guy but when you travel as much as he does, you can appreciate why.
In part Andy says:
... as a person who is spending more days a month on the road than in my own house I've pretty much nailed down what I want and need in order to be a road warrior/global nomad beyond a very well informed front desk and a "we'll get it done right concierge."
Check out his list here at Working Anywhere. My guess is that you just might agree with all 15 wishes!

My Apology to the Community and Changes Upcoming
Over the last two weeks, I have been real scarce around here. I have been holding it down with the emails and behind the scenes stuff, but I haven't really been able to post, review, or any of the other fun things that come along with the sites.
I am not gonna feed a bunch of sob sorries, but if you *are* interested in why, it was a combination of a flu, busy weeks at work, familiy issues, and "Changes Upcoming". Oh, and getting a Blu-Ray Player didn't help either.
What are these changes? i am not going to spell them all out right now, but over the next week, you should see a transformation of Mobilitysite. Yes, Again. We will be changing the software that we use to do our news, we will be merging forums with Aximsite while keeping the sites still separate, and adding some new features. In addition, I have a couple great folks that are coming onboard to help here on the sites.
Expect minor issues with some functionality over the next week or so, if something doesnt come back within a day, let me know about it. I will likely miss a couple things. Here is a teaser of the new Mobilitysite look. Looks familiar eh?

So, again, I am sorry for being so scarce and I hope everyone likes the changes when they are implemented.
