AT&T has just announced they are set to acquire T-Mobile USA from parent company, Deutsche Telekom. In this $39 Billion deal, the merge will take place over the next 12 months. Press release after the break.

On Monday AT&T annouced that they will soon be carrying Amazon’s popular eBook reader, Kindle 3G. Starting March 6th it will be availalbe throughout the country at various AT&T stores. The price will be $189 which still includes the 3G service, so there’s no additional plans needed. Full press release from AT&T after the break.

Release was set for March 6th, but it now seems as if Motorola wants to get this out sooner. According to this alleged messages that is getting sent to AT&T’s CSR, it tells us that the Atrix 4G is set to release more than a week earlier that previously stated. Either way, this AT&T “4G” device is hitting you’re local shelves soon.

Just earlier today HTC announced their two offering of a Facebook dedicated device. Tuesday AT&T announced it’s going to be launching the it’s first 4G phone, the HTC Inspire 4G on February 13th for only $99.99 with a 2-year contract. The HTC Inspire 4G features a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel camera, Android 2.2, and HTC’s Sense 2.0 and will run on the networks HSPA+ “4G” network. Well, according to Neowin it is official. Windows Phone 7 will be rolling out on October 21st in the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany with whole bunches of launch events and major partners such as Orange. In addition, there will be a special event hosted by Microsoft on October 11th in New York City in which I would expect ALL the devices to be formally announced and debuted along with the final version of the OS.

Today RIM and AT&T held an event to reveal their next device, the BlackBerry Slider we’ve been seeing pictures of. Well that slider has a name, the BlackBerry Torch, named for Torch Mobile, the company they bought to build their WebKit browser (Anyone remember Iris Browser for WM?).

The phone won’t be available until Sunday but reviews are out today, and Laptop has an exhaustive profile of the newest contender for Android Phone of the Millennium, the Samsung Captivate. The Captivate is another Galaxy S phone featuring all the key features of the new breed of smartphones.

After waiting over four hours in the reservations line (and munching on the snacks that Apple provided depicted in the photo) for my iPhone 4, I finally got it this morning at around 9am. We had quite a line at my local store, although I suspect not as long as some. There were over 700 reservations at my store according to their system which I got a peek at, and I’d estimate there were about 300 non-reserved phones...
