The Torch 9850 is RIM’s third all touch BlackBerry, following the original Storm, and the Storm 2. Where the two previous Storms had a special “clicky” screen, which RIM dubbed SurePress, the newest Storm,...
While companies like Google, Apple, and Microsoft have been pumping out new devices with modern features, RIM has been lagging behind. They’ve been saying that they’re bringing QNX to BlackBerry smartphones, but time is ticking away for the Canadian phone manufacturer. RIM responded to this with three new devices running their new OS, BlackBerry 7: the Bold 99xx, Torch 9850/9860, and the Torch 9810.

First up is the latest PlayBook OS, version 1.0.3.1868. Launched only a few days after our full review went live, we’ve had plenty...

It’s pretty crazy to think that only a little over one year ago Apple introduced the iPad. Previous attempts at tablet computing by numerous companies had been complete failures. But Apple seemed to “get it” with the iPad and took the consumer electronics industry by storm, almost as they had done with the iPhone in 2007. Just as Google responded to the iPhone with Android and more recently Honeycomb on the Motorola...
Don’t want an iPad(2)? Well looks as if RIM’s tablet is one step closer to hitting retails shelves with this FCC passing. This is just the Wi-Fi only version, so if you’re looking for the WiMAX enabled version it might be a little longer. But as you see, they’ve passed three different variations of it (16GB, 32GB, 64GB). Hopefully now we’ll get some official word soon from RIM about when...

Today RIM and AT&T held an event to reveal their next device, the BlackBerry Slider we’ve been seeing pictures of. Well that slider has a name, the BlackBerry Torch, named for Torch Mobile, the company they bought to build their WebKit browser (Anyone remember Iris Browser for WM?).
