When people choose to buy an all-touch handset, they have forfeited the idea of feeling physical keys under their fingertips. So I guess it makes sense that Apple wants to bring back the “feeling” of keys to iPhone, and most likely iPod Touch, users but is it a priority?

Apple would slap a bunch of actuators across the iPhone’s screen. Then, as you slide your finger around the screen, you’d be able to “feel” the different area of the screen. The top half is more bumpy, while the bottom half smooth as silk.

Other than an interesting technological curiosity, I don’t see this improvement as practical. Practical would be enabling the iPhone to multitask now that the handset can finally capture video and has a better camera that can auto-focus. There were also a karaoke app and fingerprint identification patent mentions, so maybe Apple just files these patents as if to say, “We were here first!” Instead of making them any kind of a priority, or at least, we can hope.

Product: Solo Vintage Leather Backpack

Manufacturer: Solocases

Price: MSRP $84.96 (significant savings available online)

A year ago I purchased a laptop on eBay and the seller included a backpack with the transaction. I carried my old laptop around in a briefcase and had never really considered a backpack until the “freebie” arrived with my new ThinkPad. The backpack was spacious and very functional, but I was never a fan of the white cloth material and the black flap that overlapped the front of the bag. It occurred to me one day that detachable pouch I was using for power cord/cable storage looked suspiciously like one of those travel make-up purses my wife uses. My suspicions were confirmed through an online search that revealed I had, indeed, been carrying a woman’s backpack. Ugh!

I immediately began a search for a laptop backpack that could accommodate all my gear while, at the same time, restore my manly-man persona! The kind folks at Solocases.com asked if I would like to review a backpack from their Vintage leather collection. The backpack is constructed in dark leather which, at first glance, reminded me of a WWII aviator’s jacket . . . you can’t get much more masculine than that! Could the SOLO Vintage leather backpack handle my gear and reinforce my masculinity? Take the jump and let’s find out . . .

Introduction
Whenever a designer sits down to design a product, of any kind, there are usually a number of considerations. The design process is really about finding the right balance between all of those considerations to make the product do what it is supposed to do. Things like finding a balance between making something strong but lightweight, high quality but affordable, fast but fuel efficient, and the list goes on and on. New products can have dozens or even hundreds of design considerations. But, every now and then, a company or a situation will come along and call for the design of a hyperbole. The design of the “-est”. Lightest. Fastest. Cheapest. Tallest. Toughest. Sometimes, maybe even most of the time, those designs turn into trainwrecks. The products are so single-minded in their purpose that they lose any of their usefulness. But, every now and then, these types of designs achieve a certain elegance in the process of meeting the goal. The elegant simplicity of the design will allow it to be useful while still being the “-est”. In those rare cases, the product can take on its own mystique and become something great. It was clear from reading Saddleback Leather’s website that this was exactly what they had set out to do. The question is, did they succeed? Read on to find out.

My first impression of the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium was great! I had expected a rugged and tuff flash drive with a great finish and I was not disappointed! The Cruzer Titanium lived up to it’s hype as it is easily the most solid feeling flash drive I have ever used. I have never been comfortable with plastic flash drives as I always thought they would break under minimal abuse. And I for one, tend to be very abusive as I always keep my flash drives in my pocket. The quality of the finish on the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium is simply spectacular. The Cruzer is chrome on the sides with a machined metal finish on top and bottom. SanDisk finishes the look off right with fine laser etched printing letting everyone know that you got 2 GB of memory on board. The plastic finger slide is very functional to allow even us larger fingered folks to easily retract the USB. Along also with the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium is a nice looking Black Lanyard with a heavy duty swivel clasp to latch onto the Cruzer. Lastly SanDisk supplies a metal belt clip that compliments the look of the Cruzer.
I needed To Protect and To Organize my cards.

I needed to be able to access them easily.

Digital Foci has a Memory Card Travel Case that allows you to organize and protect your important flash memory cards easily and safely.

How do you share files with a friend or colleague? For the most part, I think folks tend to use email or a CD and on that rare occasion, a "floppy disk". For me, there have been countless occasions where email was not the best way to hand off a single file on the "spur of the moment" and making a CD was just going to be a pain for one small file.

Of course, there was a time when we all used to use a floppy disk but they are a rarity now so what do you do? Should you use that new flash drive you bought for $30? You certainly are not going to give someone that $100 flash drive and hope that you get it back.

Verbatim recognized the need of the consumer to have the ability to share a file quickly…on the "spur of the moment" and to do it inexpensively. I just tried Verbatim’s new Flashdisk and truth be told, it is a pretty cool little device for a safe, efficient and inexpensive means of sharing files.

I decided to get my hands on some and give them a spin. The 1st one I have had the chance to test is the Verbatim 1GB U3 SmartDrive.

"I am sold on the U3 Platform and this review is about Verbatim’s 1GB U3 Smartdrive. The only problem I have with this drive is the storage size. At 1GB, I think I will be filling it up fast. I will admit that 1GB is much better than my 256MB Swiss Army Drive, but like any geek, I want more memory! This drive is very small and easy to use. The size is smaller than a pack of Big Red. The read and write speeds seemed to be superb and I loaded it up fast."

"Ultimate Hoodie offered in a dark gray, distressed cotton, the youthful, SeV Ultimate Hoodie has 6 pockets, bottle holder, built-in key chain, ZIP-PIPs, a secret pocket and a zippered front with YKK zipper.
