For a long time I have kept all of my personal information (passwords, account numbers and other information) all together in one place using the Contact List section of Microsoft Outlook. I did this for years and it was really pretty workable. By using Outlook I could keep everything in one place and even synchronize it with my PPC and/or phone and have it handy there too.

I didn’t really understand why anyone would use Twitter over an IM client or a blog post on their personal blog. Now I realize that Twitter is not only replacing personal blogs all around and IM chats, it’s also denting the importance of search engines and has become almost a necessity for anyone in any industry that involves an online presence. That said, I need Twitter and I am back on again. I actually run 6 Twitter accounts at the same time. 1 personal, 4 websites, and 1 that I don’t choose to make public. (Yes, you got me, I am the real shaq… wait, never mind, no I’m not)

About 50% of my awaken life, I don’t have the ability to be a computer to monitor email, Facebook, or Twitter, so I have always relied on a phone to keep me connected. When I had the original iPhone, I bought Twitterific. It was the 1st “good” Twitter app in the App Store. Since them, I have watched videos on many of the popular Twitter client choices and I picked Tweetie. They released Tweetie 2 a week after I bought the iPhone 3GS. I liked the old Tweetie and I like this one even more!

These same 3 developers are still at it and now bringing those apps to the iPhone. The 1st one I have looked at is eWallet.

Here is an application that I knew zero about until a friend reviewed it. Clinton Fitch reviewed this one for the same reason I decided to purchase it as well. It works seamlessly with Microsoft Exchange 2007. I am a heavy exchange user and haven’t been able to walk away towards the Google line up of services yet. I don’t know when I can, I am so used to using Exchange. Anyhow, let’s jump right into this one.

As I mentioned above, I like to use the task lists within Outlook to give myself a heads up on what I have coming up and what I need to get done. Here is what my Outlook looks like for me most of the time.

You can see that I use this a quick look at what I need to do. I have been doing this for quite a while. These tasks sync with my exchange server and I have my tasks on whatever device I am using, including my laptop and phones. The problem is the iPhone doesn’t play as nice. Making it necessary to find something like TaskTask. I had been on the hunt for a replacement task program, but I really don’t want to sync with another program when I am perfectly fine with Exchange 2007.

Another day, another business card reader. Not too long after I posted a review of Business Card Reader, the cleverly named, $6.99 application, I found a post on a friend’s blog. This post was talking about an old Windows Mobile app that still gets added to devices on some networks, WorldCard Mobile. Well, I announced the software since I thought it was hilarious that I found out about it right after I did the review on another app that does the same thing.

Within 5 hours, I was contacted by the developer of this app asking if I’d like to do a review of it too. I said sure and went to work. The application sells for $9.99, but that was waved for this review. How did it fair against an app that does the same thing for $3.00 less?

I owe you guys a couple to get caught up since I missed yesterday. Had I been using something like Awesome Note, I might not have forgotten. I have been working on this for a few weeks and just recently replaced the free version with the paid ($3.99) version. I lost all my notes. I am not sure if I could have moved them, but I will just start over. Oh well. It’s a great app and worth the upgrade.

I have been using Google Reader since it was released basicaly. I moved all my feeds from Bloglines to Google Reader and I have loved it ever since. I have gone from 150 or so feeds that I check to 800 then back down to 300 then to 600 and about 2 weeks ago, I got them down to under 100 RSS feeds. I have since added 20-30 more, but I will weed some of those out soon too. Part of the reason for that is that I get more and more news directly from the companies or from Twitter.

Google Reader is an important part of my daily routine. I use it in an interesting way though. I am on/off a desktop or laptop all day. Sometimes I don’t have time to read or link to an article so I check my feeds in Google Reader 10-20 times a day. On my laptop, I always have a Google Reader window up. It’s my home page too. When I browse the feeds, I share articles I want to go back and read later or post on.

All that said, it’s obvious that I need to be able to read my feeds on my phone too. When I first started using the iPhone again, I downloaded the free Google app that has a reader icon inside. The problem is that clicking the icon, it just opens up the browser. That’s ok since the iPhone optimized version online is not bad at all, but I want to be able to a) read offline and b) have a dedicated app. Enter Byline Google reader. I read an article (lost the link) that recommended this program. The article was one that recommended their Top 10 apps for bloggers.

Here’s another from a company that I have loved for years, PDA Mill. I am really happy to see them developing for the iPhone as well. This one is called “Bowling for Burgers”. It is set back in the greaser days and the setting is in an old school bowling alley, complete with a jukebox and Fonzie-like characters.

It’s the Annual Bowling for Burgers Tournament! Where the hippest Burger joints prove their superiority by competing in the only competition that matters: Bowling! Choose your Character, each with different strengths and weaknesses, then pick out your Ball and head to the alley!

Features:

Choose from 3 unique Characters, each with their own stengths and weaknesses

Selection of 5 different balls, allowing for different styles of play

Beautiful Graphics, Art, and Animation

Intuitive controls that emulate the feel of real bowling!

Adjustable difficulty

Hi Quality Bowling Music and Sound Effects

2 Player Mode

Arcade extras like Milk-shakes, French Fries, Spilled Drinks, and more!

Highscore List

Yep, that’s just 1/2 of the business cards I have stacked up around here. I’ve gone to 2-4 trade shows per year for the last 6 years. Every show, I come back and expect to take time to enter in all the cards I gather on that trip. Well, you guessed it, I never do. They pile up and turn into stacks like this. These are from late 2008 and 2009. I was interested in this software to try to knock this stack down to nothing. When a friend of mine, Wayne Schulz posted about this, I had to give it a try. Gimmick or real? Let’s see.

All I can say getting started is, really simple, really handy.

The PayPal application allows you to send money to your friends and family using your existing PayPal account. It’s fast, easy, and secure.

And now the PayPal application has been improved and upgraded. It’s even faster and more reliable to use and has added a handy transaction history, and new settings for the UK and Australia.

Just pick an amount and a contact, and we’ll take care of the rest. You can choose from 16 different currencies and can log into your account using your existing PIN or password.

The PayPal application is also great for checking your balance while you’re out. Need to know if you have enough money to buy something? Just log in to see all of your PayPal balances at once.

I don’t send money so this function is useless to me really. I mainly have this application for what it does best, check balance and recent activity. That’s it and it does that well.

Ok, I am not one to try a lot of new games really. This one is no exception. This is a game that used to entertain me for HOURS back in the Pocket PC days. I think it was called Lemonade Stand back then though. They didn’t have workers to hire either, but everything else was just about the same. As I understand it, Lemonade Tycoon has a free, ad supported version as well. This is the paid version. It was one of the 1st games I bought when I blew $100 in 2 days on apps.
