First, let me get this out of the way….I CALLED IT! :) I was hoping for a “convertible” type of form factor, and Apple delivered the goods in the form of the keyboard docking system. Now, onto the juicy stuff.
We have a 9.7″ IPS display, I’m guessing it is LED backlit
16-64 GB of memory
We have a modified version of the iPhone OS which I hope comes through to the iPhone. I’d...
I don’t really have many complaints about my iPod touch. It’s a great product, plays my music, plays 3D games. The only thing bothering me was the battery life. Bringing a charger around wasn’t exactly a solution, and since there isn’t a removable battery I started looking for battery backups. Then I stumbled across the RichardSolo 1800 Backup Battery for the iPhone and iPod. It’s truly an amazing product....

The battle of snarkiness between AT&T and Verizon is resulting in benefits for subscribers.
Yesterday, AT&T announced a new unlimited voice and data plan for smartphone owners, including those who use the iPhone, that offers unlimited voice and data service for $99.99 per month. The change was the result of Verizon lowering the cost of its unlimited plans earlier in the day, and consumers are the beneficiaries...
I just got the press release and had to post this. I’m sure that there are some (maybe even many) that will find it helpful and useful, but I find it quite humorous.
‘Navizon Teams Up With SitOrSquat to Guide You to the Nearest Clean Toilet When You Need It Most’
“SitorSquat is a handy tool that will help you find the nearest available public toilet when you need it most. In this case, it is Navizon’s speed...

I really don’t want to waste a lot of time in a review of the new Verizon Motorola Droid comparing it to the iPhone. Let’s get that topic out of the way by listing a few of Droid’s killer features that should catch your attention and put iPhone on the alert:
Droid has a bigger screen than iPhone
Droid has infinite expandable memory
Droid has a lateral, physical, slide...

Business Insider is running a report today that Hulu is prepping their own iPhone app. It is expected to be in the App Store in the next few months and is supposedly “badass”. The usual unnamed source has said that the app will work over Wi-Fi and 3G and will stream all of Hulu’s content to your iDevice of choice. Now I know this won’t be the first streaming video app in the App Store with...

So here we are are now on day 2. Today, I’m going to look at getting the RedEye app working with your devices. Now it would be nearly impossible for me to tell you if your hardware will or will not work with this app. I was lucky enough to be able to exchange emails with the CEO, Matthew Eagar and he filled me in on the device support details. As of the launch of the device, only 15% of their database was ready. ...

Now that finals, Christmas, New Years, birthday parties, and a laptop hard drive failure are all out of the way, I’m finally ready to bring you all the first part of my ThinkFlood RedEye review. Today I’m looking simply at the hardware because this application is so complex that I’m going to break this down into multiple parts. So read on past the break to see my impressions of this from a hardware...

A federal appeals court rejected claims that Apple is responsible for hearing loss caused by the iPod, reports Reuters. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals confirmed an earlier ruling that the iPod causes no unreasonable risk of hearing loss. The plaintiffs believed that the ear buds were designed to be placed deep in the ear canal, which could cause hearing loss. Speaking as someone who has used Apple headphones before,...
Mophie, the popular iPhone and iPod accessory and battery add-on maker, will use CES 2010 as the platform to introduce their iPhone credit card reader and third-party app, marking the accessory manufacturer’s first attempt to break into the lucrative mobile payment systems market. The accessory has been unimaginatively dubbed as the “Credit Card Reader”, where each purchase will be accompanied by a complimentary...
Back in November, there was a rumor that surfaced that AT&T and Apple were teaming up to put an 8GB 3GS model out with a $99 price point to compete with the Android handsets that hit the scene. The buzz back then was for the Christmas rush, but this deal and 3GS capacity never surface. Go figure. Well, part of the rumor looks to have come true…

Here’s a really cool iPhone theme that I just started using. It’s called Etched Base. It’s got a really nice monochrome look. The only real issue is the lack of icons that come packaged with it. It comes with around 200 icons, which isn’t shabby, but coming from Glaskart it’s not many at all. Read on to see the screens and video of this cool theme.

My daughter has access to dozens of hot phones, but she’s not taken much interest in any Windows Mobile phones she’s played with. There were a couple that peaked her interest, but she LOVED the HTC Snap I got from Microsoft recently. In a casual conversation, I gauged her interest and she said out of all the phones in our house, she’d pick the HTC Snap. Keep in mind, I have an iPhone 3G I bought for here (she doesn’t...

I’ll skip over the handling the iPhone part and get to the part about the Palm Pre. I’m going to file the Palm Pre Plus into the “rumor” file for now. There is no doubt that Palm has something to show us at CES 2010 since I got an invitation to a private event, but what is it. Well, there were stories posted this week that Verizon employees were getting Palm WebOS training, so we can add two and two together,...

In the whole buzz of Google’s Nexus One, some iPhone news went under the radar. It seems that there are a couple new iPhone OS versions floating around. BGR showed a screenshot of their webstats that show 3.1.3 iPhone OS already, but the bigger surprise is an 4.0 iPhone OS entry. Wow!
Another interesting bit is from some research done by comScore. They are showing that Windows Mobile has just been passed up by...
