iPhone Haptic Feedback Patent

Posted by Marilyn Torres on Jul 02, 2009 | Comments

When people choose to buy an all-touch handset, they have forfeited the idea of feeling physical keys under their fingertips. So I guess it makes sense that Apple wants to bring back the “feeling” of keys to iPhone, and most likely iPod Touch, users but is it a priority? Apple would slap a bunch of actuators across the iPhone’s screen. Then, as you slide your finger around the screen, you’d be able to “feel”...

IntroductionWhenever a designer sits down to design a product, of any kind, there are usually a number of considerations.  The design process is really about finding the right balance between all of those considerations to make the product do what it is supposed to do.  Things like finding a balance between making something strong but lightweight, high quality but affordable, fast but fuel efficient, and the...

Review – Planon Docupen RC800

Posted by Chris Leckness on Feb 05, 2007 | Comments

If you are in the market for a pen scanner, check out Paul’s review of the Planon Docupen RC800. “All in all, I like the solution that Planon has come up with. The pros most definitely outweigh the cons in this instance. I would recommend this product to those with an actual need for a product like it. Otherwise, it would be a rather pricey toy to own.” Read Paul’s complete Docupen RC800 review!...

Review – 2GB Sandisk Cruzer Titanium

Posted by Chris Leckness on Dec 04, 2006 | Comments

My first impression of the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium was great! I had expected a rugged and tuff flash drive with a great finish and I was not disappointed! The Cruzer Titanium lived up to it’s hype as it is easily the most solid feeling flash drive I have ever used. I have never been comfortable with plastic flash drives as I always thought they would break under minimal abuse. And I for one, tend to be very abusive...

Digital Foci Memory Card Travel Case

Posted by Jack Cook on Apr 17, 2006 | Comments

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a difference and accumulating a variety of memory cards, each with their little plastic case can make a difference.  How do you deal with all those little cases?  I find them to be a huge inconvenience and evidently the folks at Digital Foci felt the same. I needed a better solution for carrying a variety of memory cards. I needed To Protect and To Organize my...

The Verbatim FlashDisc

Posted by Jack Cook on Apr 13, 2006 | Comments

Verbatim has come up with a solution that allows you to share photos, files, MP3 songs with anyone and you can do it easily and inexpensively.  How do you share files with a friend or colleague?  For the most part, I think folks tend to use email or a CD and on that rare occasion, a "floppy disk".  For me, there have been countless occasions where email was not the best way to hand off...

Posted by Chris Leckness on Mar 17, 2006 | Comments

I have been real impressed with the potential of this U3 Platform that is being included on some of the newer Flash Drives coming out. I decided to get my hands on some and give them a spin. The 1st one I have had the chance to test is the Verbatim 1GB U3 SmartDrive. "I am sold on the U3 Platform and this review is about Verbatim’s 1GB U3 Smartdrive. The only problem I have with this drive is the storage size....

Posted by Chris Leckness on Feb 22, 2006 | Comments

Branden Russell checks out the ScotteVEST Sport TEC 4.0 and Microfleece Pullover! "I love both the Sport TEC and the Microfleece. They are great and I don’t know how I went so long without them. I don’t really like coats, but the Sport TEC is light enough and stylish enough to wear for most things and is so comfortable I can’t imagine being without it. Then the Microfleece is great for when you...
