ThinkFlood parodies iPhone 4 leak and reveals RedEye mini

Posted by Adam Wyss on Jul 07, 2010 | 3 Comments

Today ThinkFlood revealed the new RedEye mini remote control hardware. They decided to do so in the same style as Gizmodo did with the iPhone 4.  It is a refreshing take on an official product reveal because not a lot of companies have this sense of humor. The new hardware is different from the original Redeye in that instead of having a base station in your living room and connecting over wifi to your iOS device,...

Powermat Goes Seamless

Posted by Marilyn Torres on Jan 12, 2010 | 6 Comments

With Android expanding onto AT&T in a big way, custom accessories are not far behind. Enter Powermat, which was a great idea at first until I realized that in order to make the transition to wireless charging, I would have to add a noticeably bulky, snap-on accessory to my handset. Then, Powermat revealed  a few innovations at CES that I was holding out for from the beginning; seamless, custom-fit, wireless charging...

iTwinge: The iPhone Keyboard You Either Love Or Hate

Posted by Sam Hobson on Sep 17, 2009 | 4 Comments

Meet iTwinge, the accessory for the iPhone that supposedly will increase your typing speed by 30%-40%.  From the picture, it appears to be a sleeve that fits over the bottom half of the iPhone and provides a real feeling keyboard over where the touch keyboard would normally be. It says it uses the phone’s power, but I’m not sure what for. To me, it just looks like trouble.  They claim you can type faster, but it...

Touchstone + iPhone = Ugly

Posted by Sam Hobson on Aug 06, 2009 | 5 Comments

I always thought the Pre and the Touchstone were a cool and innovative way of charging the phone.  Now iPhone users can get some of that coolness and innovation.  Well innovation anyway. This is WildCharge, the iPhone touchstone (or touch sheet?).  When used with the included jacket, it will start charging your iPhone as soon as you lay it down on it.  From what I read, the jacket has metal contacts...

Once of the biggest obstacles to a truly “green” telecom industry seems to be finally coming to an end, as the Associated Press is reporting that the EU and companies like Nokia and other mobile phone vendors have agreed to make all their devices compatible with a single, standard charger. The AP story runs as follows: BRUSSELS (AP) — EU officials say they have reached a deal with mobile phone makers to introduce...

Piel Frama Does The Samsung Epix

Posted by Chris Leckness on Apr 07, 2009 | 1 Comment

One of my long time favorite case makers is Piel Frama. It’s really a tie for my favorite between Piel Frama, Sena, and Vaja. It comes down to different reasons for each. Anyhow, Piel Frama has just announced a case for the Samsung Epix, the SGH-i907. This is the hot “blackjack-like” phone on AT&T right now. Available colors: Black, Tan, Black/Tan, Red, Green and Blue color. Available also in:...

Verizon’s MiFi 2200 — your own personal Hotspot

Posted by Jack Cook on Mar 30, 2009 | Leave a Comment

Chris just caught this over at Phone Arena and it sounds very cool!  Apparently, Verizon is preparing to launch a device known as the MiFi 2200. This looks like it will be a personal Hotspot with built-in rechargeable battery. Your laptop will connect to it via WiFi (or USB cable) and then the MiFi 2200 connects to Verizon’s EVDO data network. Not much is known right now so we will have to hope that Chris...

Mike Temporale from Mobile Jaw has a great solution for you.  He did a nice review of the Blueant Z9i and has a treat for you with two wav files from the Z9i and Jawbone where YOU can compare the quality of the sound received during a call.  In part, Mike said: From wired to wireless, I’ve used a number of different headsets over the years. The wired headsets are loaded with nothing but problems, the cord...

Posted by Jack Cook on Mar 18, 2009 | 1 Comment

I have to admit when I first saw this I was pretty excited.  The number of times I have lost my connection with my car kit because I was out of power has been too many times.  It is just one of those things that I often forget to do and then it is too late.  So then I have to dig into my car’s console, find a DC charger, attach it to my car kit and let it charge.  The solCHAT is a solution for...
