It was a simple post for Robert today … and I can’t believe that he took the time away from watching iTV to do it because he says “Apple TV rocks“. He bought one, set it up and he indicated that IT WAS EASY.
Of course he has watched a few favorites: Ask a Ninja, Rocketboom, my show, and Ze Frank on it so far.
So why post about Robert liking it … the rumor is that he likes...

It was only a matter of time with the question being who would be first. Well it was TechRestore who got an Apple TV and exposed its guts for all to see … and what is good is that you can (if you want) upgrade that hard drive easily. What is bad is that everything else is on the board which means there is no way to upgrade (or fix) anything else including the RAM.
Oh well, most folks won’t care….

Matt Buchanan posted his thoughts on the Apple TV with a post entitled Five Little Things We Don’t Like About Apple TV. Yup, like most devices we will always find things we don’t like and I am sure there are going to be many more dislikes but I would venture a guess that there will also be a slew of things that folks will like with a result that this device may well be hugely popular. ...

Engadget Mobile posted a story today called Pocket PC gets iPhone makeover that I thought was good enough to run again. Chris found it several days ago on CoolSmartphone and posted it here at Mobilitysite.
There is definitely a strong interest in the iPhone with all the folks making “look a likes” but this fellow has done a particularly good job in this program he created for...

Hey, Apple: Remember the Newton before releasing iPhone
David Haskin put up an interesting piece on the ComputerWorld Blogs that is worth reading. History does repeat itself and if Apple is not careful, it may well happen again.
In part, David said:
… I was reminded of the Newton lately and how, despite its current hot streak, Apple doesn’t have an unblemished record when it comes to introducing...

Four things about the iPhone that you probably overlooked from Steve Job’s MacWorld keynote. They include what the calendar application looks like, how you’ll view traffic in Google Maps, another way to scroll through long lists and how ringtones may ultimately work.

Gizmodo had an interesting item today on the iPhone and iPod. Wireless …..
They indicated that Apple may be preparing wireless docking for its iPhones, iPods and other devices. The technique will use voodoo called induction, and involves hiding coils underneath the surface of a device and its cradle, with the ability to wirelessly transfer data and power.
Check it out here at Gizmodo

Why? Because he told Apple to ’stick to your knitting’ … and you know, he’s right!

Apple CEO Steve Jobs says Apple would support an open online music marketplace if large music companies stop using digital-rights management software to prevent copying of music sold online. An economist who studies hidden costs of intellectual property rights agrees with Jobs, suggesting his challenge signals the coming end of copyright as we know it.
Steve Jobs, chief executive of Apple Computers, has issued a challenge...

… and you can win it at MY!PHONE!
My great and good friend Judie Hughes from Gear Diary is an associate editor at MY!Phone during all her free time (how does she do it?). Vincent asked Judie to join the team over there most likely to add a solid voice of reason as well as some clear inner and outer beauty!
So I was chatting with Judie today and she told me about...

Welcome to this weeks hottest collection of Mobile celebrity gossip (at least until Heat Magazine starts doing PDA roundups)
First off Jack Black has been seen hanging around the offices of virtual carrier Amp’d Mobile, probably due to the big deal he has to develop mobile entertainment for the network

Jason Chen over at Gizmodo did one of those there Sizemodo thingys over at Sizeasy. Thanks Jason. I adjsuted the default image size to fit our site a bit better.
The LG Prada phone may look like the iPhone and it may behave like the iPhone—what with its black finish and touchscreen—but it’s not the iPhone. You can fool yourself all you want, but you’re just going to end up paying for this...

While at CES Chris and I paid a visit to bloghaus and yes, it was that noisy when we were there. There were all sorts of folks there chatting about a variety of different topics. Below is a video taken with Robert Scoble and a couple of “bloggers” having a discussion on the iPhone.
Robert, come on, it’s Steve Jobs ….

I couldn’t pass this up. TechEBlog had a post today on 5 Creative Uses for the MacBook that were so good I just don’t know why Apple doesn’t incorporate them in their Mac/PC ads … maybe they don’t eat eggs for breakfast!
In any event, there really are a couple of “neat” uses and a few brief videos to watch … enjoy!

I was unaware that anyone besides “Apple” had actually seen the iPhone in the flesh, other than the glass case crap they pulled at Mac World. I made a post a few minutes ago in the forums in this thread saying I would reserve judgement until I saw it in “real” action. I got a pretty fast PM with a link to this video.
Well, this looks quite a bit better than a photo of a dormant...

DonS over at BostonPocketPC posted a compelling article today on his initial thoughts about the new Apple iPhone. It was well written and well worth the read.
In part Don said:
The iPhone has the potential to be a runaway hit. Notice the word potential here. I don’t consider raw number of gross units sold to be the ultimate determination of success, either (more on why in a minute). To get there, however,...

C/NET had an article entitled “ A heavy load for the iPhone to bear ” that I thought was pretty interesting in the ongoing discussion of the new iPhone. The more and more I read, the more I am convinced that this is NOT going to be a hit in the business end … it will have strong appeal to the under 25.
In part, the C/NET article said:
There’s little debate about the aesthetic appeal...
