Here is a quick video unboxing for the Griffin PowerDuo Reserve that I shot tonight. It was recorded using my iPhone 3GS and the iPhone you see in the video is a borrowed iPhone 3G that I used for the video. I picked this up on sale at Best Buy for $49.99 however it retails for $59.99. Keep an eye out for the review some time this week (school and work schedules permitting of course) as I put this battery system through its paces. I have been very satisfied with Griffin’s products in the past and hopefully the PowerDuo is just as good. After the break is simply a quick personal disclosure so feel free to skip unless you are into that kind of thing.

All 3 are available for sale now at the Apple Store and will be available soon at Griffin’s website and other national retail stores.

Last month, Boston-Power announced that HP made available its new brand of eco-certified notebook PC batteries – the Enviro Series – based on Boston-Power’s next-generation Lithium-ion technology, Sonata. This marks the first time a U.S.-based battery company has ever sold battery technology to a notebook PC provider. The Enviro Series battery is compatible with more than 70 percent of HP’s consumer notebook models. As the world’s top provider of notebook PCs, that’s a very large PC user community!

Boston-Power is equally excited that HP is featuring the Enviro Series battery in its Earth Day promotion – providing customers with a great discounted price of $119.99. Information about the promotion can be found here. This makes it even easier for people to experience the great benefits of Sonata such as long life, the industry’s longest warranty (three years) and reduced environmental impact.

Today I had the opportunity to hear a presentation from Dr. Cristina Lampe-Onnerud from Boston Power. She has pioneered the use of lithium-ion and other materials to deliver more powerful, longer lasting, safer and cost-effective batteries for laptops, PDAs, cell phones and other electronic devices.

During her presentation, she shared her thoughts and encouraged a dialog about where battery technology stands today, where it needs to be tomorrow and what the future holds. Simply stated, she was dynamic in her presentation and created a positive look into the future of batteries that we will be using.
