I don’t know what caused it and it’s still an issue, but it can be resolved easily, well kind of easy. You will have to re-download the applications. The problem is that it doesn’t have a button to “re-download”, but Matt Miller told me he had this issue and chose the cheapest application and decided to click “buy” and see what happens. I figured what the hell, and tried it too. It works! Check out these screen shots…

Ok, so I loaded up the Gen 1 iPhone with 2.0 software when it was released. I proceeded to drop $30-$40 on some applications. This all went well and the application store was looking like a superstar until Friday. I posted about how to customize your home screen on July 30th and in the photo below, you can see how my screen was configured, including what applications I had purchased.

Well, Friday night on the way out of town, I noticed that I am missing a ton of icons. I noted this from the car after I noticed it on my personal blog. I was out of town and primarily using the E-Ten M810 so no big deal. I decided to fix it when I got home today. Well, this didn’t go quite as planned…
