It’s not looking so good for the Pre

Posted by Keisha Barwise on Jan 26, 2009 | 16 Comments

If the pricing of Palm’s Treo Pro on the Sprint network is any indication, the Palm Pre has no hope of being released at a reasonable price. Engadget has located pricing on Best Buy’s website for $699 off contract. You can get the device in store if you are so inclined, but they are backordered for 1-2 weeks if you want it shipped to you. The Treo Pro will be available cheaper with contract but it lends to...

Review – Palm Treo Pro

Posted by Chris Leckness on Oct 24, 2008 | 5 Comments

If you’ve been reading my sites for a while, you’d know that ever since the Treo 700w hit Verizon a couple years ago, I have had a soft spot for the Palm Treo line. The Treo 700w was the 1st Treo to come out with Windows Mobile. That was huge in my book for Palm. Following on, The Treo 750 became my go to phone for about 6-9 months and I really loved the phone and email experience on the 750. This year, Palm...

I am Carrying the Palm Treo Pro Now

Posted by Chris Leckness on Oct 06, 2008 | 6 Comments

I got the Palm Treo Pro last Thursday. I haven’t had any time to take photos or videos, but those will be available on Mobilitysite in the next couple days. So far I am impressed. Windows 6.1 runs amazingly fast on the hardware, the form factor is Super Slim. Photos can’t do the phone any real justice. This thing is ultra thin compared to the AT&T Tilt or Treo 750. What I miss so far is the Palm love...

Palm Treo Pro – Now it’s Official

Posted by Chris Leckness on Aug 20, 2008 | 1 Comment

I have to admit, I was really jealous of Sprint users when the Treo 800w was released. For the 2nd “Major Release” in a row, a CDMA carrier got the cool Windows Mobile Powered phone 1st. The Treo 700w was released on Verizon and was exclusive for 6 months. I am an AT&T user and I had to wait a ton of time to get some Windows Mobile Powered Treo Action with the Treo 750. Anyhow, the 800w made me quite...

Palm Treo Pro – Nothing Official

Posted by Chris Leckness on Aug 19, 2008 | 1 Comment

I am seeing reports online that the Palm Treo Pro was made official today, but I have to be honest, I ain’t buying it. I’d like to think that a launch or official release of a product would be more than 2 leaked press photos and no press release, wouldn’t you? Well, according to Slashgear, Palm released some photos and a video of the “Palm Treo Pro”. I don’t doubt that they are real,...

Palm Treo Pro – More Info and Photos

Posted by Chris Leckness on Aug 18, 2008 | Leave a Comment

Some info surfaced about a hot new phone from Palm last week. Late last week, even more info came out making this probably the most leaked device yet from Palm. Leaks or not, this thing looks like it’s going to be a hit. Enjoy some nice photos that have surfaced.   AKPC_IDS += "18185,"; Read More →

Palm Treo Pro? If it’s Real, It’s HAWT!!!

Posted by Chris Leckness on Aug 14, 2008 | 3 Comments

I am not sure about the legitimacy of these images, but I have to say that if they are… Bravo Palm. Wow. That is a sexy phone. Some guy over at Treo Central found a link (now dead) to a flash training demo. Sharkweek? Here is an image of what the tipster is calling the Treo 850. Time will tell, but it look promising and Palm has been working hard to support Windows Mobile more so than their own OS. Source : WM...

Palm Treo 800w – Review

Posted by Jack Cook on Aug 01, 2008 | Leave a Comment

There is a nice review of the Palm Treo 800w over at  Mobile Tech Review that you might want to read.  I have loved the Palm form factor and have been excited to see and use the new 800w.  There is no question in my mind that the one-handed and overall usability of Palm devices is the best. It is a “competitive phone with GPS, WiFi and EVDO along with a few goodies like Sprint TV. These days, the...

Sprint Palm Treo 800w Video 1st Look

Posted by Chris Leckness on Jul 14, 2008 | Leave a Comment

I apologize in advance for a couple things… a) The delay getting the video online. 250mb takes a while to upload to YouTube, b) some minor mistakes I made in the video and c) The length of the video. 20+ minutes is a lot to sit through. Of course, if you are in the market for the Palm Treo 800w, it’s worth it to watch. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any questions. AKPC_IDS += "17608,"; Read More →

Rut Roh Shaggy, Leaked details of the Palm Treo 800w

Posted by Chris Leckness on Jun 29, 2008 | 1 Comment

Hot off the discussions with peers about leaking info, here is a nice leak from Engadget. As I said the other day, I don’t feel comfortable "leaking info" but I don’t have a problem with sharing already leaked info… Even though the Palm Treo 800w has been known to exist and is coming to Sprint first for a while now, it’s really nice to get some pretty solid info. I am pretty convinced...

Exclusive Video of the Palm Treo 800w Surfaces

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 27, 2008 | 1 Comment

PDA Live has uncovered this video on Youtube of a comparison 1st look at the Treo 800w. The guy doing the video has some harsh ideas about the new device, but I disagree. I don’t thing Palm should really mess too much with the form factor that many have praised. It’s really a nice form factor and Palm does a superb job at putting their own touches on these phones. Out of all the Windows Mobile phones...

BlackBerry Trounces Windows Mobile

Posted by Steve Laser on May 18, 2008 | 13 Comments

I was at a party last night and was shocked by how many people were sporting the BlackBerry Curve, including my wife.  Even a couple people who used to have Windows Mobile devices have made the switch.  One of them used to have the Sprint Mogul PPC 6700, which is a really cool phone: I couldn’t believe he had a Curve.  So I asked him why, and he told me that the form factor makes it so he can...

UK O2 users can now get their hands on the Palm Treo 500. This is such a beautiful looking device. I can’t wait for the “rumored” Treo 800w to hit the US. Head over to O2’s website for more info. Source: CoolSmartPhone AKPC_IDS += "15523,"; Read More →

Treo 800w Confirmed Sprint Roadmap

Posted by Chris Leckness on Mar 29, 2008 | Leave a Comment

Well, it’s not really news that the Treo 800W is coming, but it’s become quite a bit more official seeing this roadmap and while the carrier has been rumored to be Sprint for a while, this too is now confirmed. I am evaluating the Sprint version of the BlackJack II, the Samsung Ace right now, but I am really looking forward to this release. Palm Treos have done a ton for the Windows Mobile community and the...

Is your Palm phone ready for daylight savings time ? (tomorrow)

Posted by gasusan2005 on Mar 08, 2008 | Leave a Comment

From Palm blog As of last year, Daylight Saving Time (DST) now rolls around a little earlier in the first part of the year and ends a week later: this year DST begins on March 9th at 2 a.m. and ends on Nov. 2 at 2 a.m. People who have recently purchased a Palm smartphone or updated their smartphone using a Palm software update are pretty much all set with the latest DST calendar rules, but we want to make sure everyone...
