Review: Nexus S 4G (Sprint)

Posted by Dan H. on Jun 10, 2011 | 6 Comments

When Google launched the Nexus One last year, it was a huge deal, considering it was the first “pure Google experience” device. Unfortunately, the CDMA version of the Nexus One never launched. Along came the Samsung Nexus S, the successor to the Nexus One. It’s the first device to run Android 2.3, Gingerbread, and it’s also a “pure Google experience” device. However, this time around, Google granted Sprint...

Review: HTC Arrive (Sprint)

Posted by Dan H. on Apr 15, 2011 | 8 Comments

When Windows Phone 7 devices were being unleashed into the world late last year, there was a strange lack of CDMA devices. That means that if you were on Verizon or Sprint (in the US, anyway), you weren’t able to get a Windows Phone 7 device. That’s changed now, with the introduction of the HTC Arrive for Sprint. We’ve been using one for the last couple of weeks, so keep reading for our full review! AKPC_IDS...

For those of us that have not succumbed to the hype of the iPhone 4 and still carry their beloved iPhone 3G or 3GS around well OtterBox hasn’t forgotten you, after I updated my iPhone 3G to the HTC HD2, I gave my iPhone to my wife. She finally agreed to using it and now loves using it on a daily basis. After trying the Commuter Series case for the HD2, my wife Lisa thought it would be great to try the Commuter...

Review: OtterBox Commuter Case for HD2 (International)

Posted by PPCApache on Aug 22, 2010 | 2 Comments

For the last week I have been using OtterBox’s Commuter Series Case for the HD2, unlike the Defender Series Case which I Reviewed over a week ago, this case is very slim line in comparison can be used in a pocket or carry case. I found I really liked the size of this case, very light compared the Defender Case. The Commuter Case is similar to the Defender Case but it is as if it has been on Weight Watchers programme...

Jaybird have released their update to their very successful Sportsband Bluetooth Headphones range with the release of the Sportsband 2. Monday to Friday I spend about 45 mins travelling to work one way, this includes a 5 min walk to the train station, 30 min train ride and a 10 min walk to work from the train station so most days I like to listen to music on my walks and watch a movie on the train, now I used to use...

I received...

iPhone 4: First Impressions

Posted by Kevin Song on Jun 24, 2010 | 5 Comments

After waiting over four hours in the reservations line (and munching on the snacks that Apple provided depicted in the photo) for my iPhone 4, I finally got it this morning at around 9am. We had quite a line at my local store, although I suspect not as long as some. There were over 700 reservations at my store according to their system which I got a peek at, and I’d estimate there were about 300 non-reserved phones...

Griffin TuneFlex AUX Review

Posted by Adam Wyss on Jun 01, 2010 | 1 Comment

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been road testing Griffin’s TuneFlex AUX and this is the first in hopefully a long line of reviews in my search for the perfect in-car audio solution for my new 1998 Ford Escort.  Out of fairness to Griffin, I am not going to comment on audio quality because I’m using the stock Ford radio with a cassette adapter and the stock Ford speakers which sound terrible. So, as some background...

A month later: Nexus One

Posted by Gil Bouhnick on Mar 31, 2010 | 20 Comments

For an old guy like me, switching to a new mobile OS is not an easy task. You need to get used to new things, learn the right tweaks and find the best apps that will upgrade and polish your smartphone. In the last 2 years I switched from Windows Mobile to iPhone, all the way to BlackBerry and back to the iPhone. Now I found myself trying to get used to a Nexus One; Google’s first phone running Google’s first...

BlackBerry Bold 9700 Review

Posted by Sam Hobson on Jan 20, 2010 | 64 Comments

NOTE: Due to some technical issues with the blog, this review was published later than expected.  My apologies for the delay. Recently I upgraded from the BlackBerry Bold 9000 to the BlackBerry Bold 9700.  I decided to take this opportunity to review it as well. It is certainly a worthy upgrade to the Bold series, improving on things such as form factor, memory, and performance.  It is definitely much...

ThinkFlood RedEye Review, Part 2: Device Setup

Posted by Adam Wyss on Jan 05, 2010 | 6 Comments

So here we are are now on day 2.  Today, I’m going to look at getting the RedEye app working with your devices.  Now it would be nearly impossible for me to tell you if your hardware will or will not work with this app.  I was lucky enough to be able to exchange emails with the CEO, Matthew Eagar and he filled me in on the device support details.  As of the launch of the device, only 15% of their database was ready. ...

ThinkFlood RedEye Review: Part 1, Intro and Hardware

Posted by Adam Wyss on Jan 04, 2010 | 5 Comments

Now that finals, Christmas, New Years, birthday parties, and a laptop hard drive failure are all out of the way, I’m finally ready to bring you all the first part of my ThinkFlood RedEye review.  Today I’m looking simply at the hardware because this application is so complex that I’m going to break this down into multiple parts.  So read on past the break to see my impressions of this from a hardware...

Rock Band for iPhone: Quick First Impressions

Posted by Adam Wyss on Oct 19, 2009 | Leave a Comment

Well, first off, let me say that if you have ever played Rock Band in any way shape or form (except the watered down PlayStation 2 version, but I won’t go there) then you will be right at home on the iPhone version.  The UI elements are very true to the Rock Band line, but also, feel “iPhone natural” at the same time.  EA did a good job with this in my quick 1am opinion.  That said, one thing I have...

SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 – Review

Posted by Forge42 on Oct 01, 2009 | 8 Comments

Introduction: A few days ago, SPB released a new update to version 3.5 of Mobile Shell. For those who aren’t familiar,   Mobile shell is a complete overhaul of your phone’s interface. Generally, it tries to make your phone look better, be more usable and more “touch friendly”. With Mobile Shell Installed, you will rarely see your Windows Mobile phone’s today screen or start menu. Rather, most of your...

Samsung Propel Pro Review

Posted by Sam Hobson on Sep 25, 2009 | 1 Comment

A few weeks ago I got a Samsung Propel Pro after my beloved BlackBerry went for a swim.  I’m posting my thoughts on the phone here to give other folks an idea of what its like. I know this is a delayed review since this phone came out a few months back, but I’m going to review it anyway. Overall, I give the phone 4 out of 5 stars.  It has great usability, and is quite fast, but certain quirks such as battery...
