“We are excited to expand our support for Symbian smartphones, providing customers with the best possible mobile TV experience. With over two-and-a-half billion global 3G and WiFi connections the market potential for mobile TV is huge,” said Blake Krikorian, co-founder and CEO of Sling Media. “In order to meet this growing desire for mobile TV, we will continue to expand the availability of SlingPlayer Mobile to as many platforms and devices as possible. Adding SlingPlayer Mobile to such a cutting edge platform as UIQ on Symbian OS is a great step forward in expanding user accessibility to their home TV set-up.”

If you are heading out to CTIA, which I am skipping this year, head over to the Symbian Booth and get yourself a demo on one of these devices! Wait… That’s not it. Although there is no release at this time, the good news for 75% of our readers is that they are working on Windows Mobile client updates. Hope to see some of that soon.

But wait, there’s more – The Nokia N95 8GB has a big, beautiful screen which we intend to fully leverage with an updated SlingPlayer Mobile for Symbian S60. Still not satisfied? We’ve got some Windows Mobile client updates in the pipeline and are also hard at work to bring you BlackBerry support later this year.

I am Slingplayerless right now. I gave mine to my brother-in-law for him to set up at his mothers house so he could get US Programming in Japan, where he is now stationed. Not sure how it will work out for him, but look forward to hearing from him on that.
