One the most interesting news I have seen coming from Computex is one reported by JKK about Pixel Qi Screen, a new kind of screen using a technology that is a mix between LCD and e-Ink.

Yesterday I had my annual physical with all the basic tests. I had to get some additional testing done which had me going to the lab that all sorts of medical equipment. But those days may well be over after I caught this item at The Red Ferret Journal. Imagine, your doctor performing a test and at the same time chatting with someone on the same device he is testing you with……….

Computer engineers at Washington University in St. Louis are bringing the minimalist approach to medical care and computing by coupling USB-based ultrasound probe technology with a smartphone, enabling a compact, mobile computational platform and a medical imaging device that fits in the palm of a hand.

Clean Technology from Boston-Power

Today I had the opportunity to hear a presentation from Dr. Cristina Lampe-Onnerud from Boston Power. She has pioneered the use of lithium-ion and other materials to deliver more powerful, longer lasting, safer and cost-effective batteries for laptops, PDAs, cell phones and other electronic devices.

During her presentation, she shared her thoughts and encouraged a dialog about where battery technology stands today, where it needs to be tomorrow and what the future holds. Simply stated, she was dynamic in her presentation and created a positive look into the future of batteries that we will be using.
