While companies like Google, Apple, and Microsoft have been pumping out new devices with modern features, RIM has been lagging behind. They’ve been saying that they’re bringing QNX to BlackBerry smartphones, but time is ticking away for the Canadian phone manufacturer. RIM responded to this with three new devices running their new OS, BlackBerry 7: the Bold 99xx, Torch 9850/9860, and the Torch 9810.

We reviewed the Motorola Xoom back in March, and it was the first device to run a tablet-optimized version of Android, known as Android 3.0 “Honeycomb”. At the time of the writing, it was a 3G-only tablet, with the 4G LTE hardware upgrade “coming soon”.
Fast forward four months, and the Xoom still doesn’t have the LTE upgrade (it’s coming in a few weeks!), but there’s a new kid on the block: the Samsung...

A few weeks ago, Motorola and Verizon launched the third Droid branded full QWERTY slider. Dubbed the Droid 3 (surprising, we know), this latest addition to the Droid family looks a good bit like its older siblings, but also packs some worthwhile upgrades. We’ve spent the last two weeks with one, so read on for our thoughts!

The PlayStation Phone is probably one of the worst-kept secrets in the mobile industry — there were whispers and talks everywhere, and blogs even managed to get hands-on with prototypes. Those days are now over, and PlayStation Phone — better known as the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY – is now here.

Although it’s not immediately noticeable, the Xperia PLAY is quite different from your standard...

Loosely based on the company’s Galaxy S II series, the DROID Charge by Samsung is Verizon’s second 4G LTE device. It had a rocky start — with a LTE outage the day before the planned release, it was delayed for a bit, and now it’s finally here. We’ve been playing with one for a few weeks, so keep reading for our full impressions!

LG may not be known for high-end smartphones in the US, but they’ve certainly tried hard to impress with the LTE packing Revolution on Verizon. We’ve been playing around with one for a week, keep reading for our thoughts!
Hardware
The LG Revolution is the last of the three launch 4G LTE devices. It’s pretty similar to the other two 4G LTE smartphones — the ThunderBolt and the DROID Charge.

The folks over at PreCentral got sent the above photo and has been told that this is an upcoming webOS device with possible code name, Stingray. It’ will also be the first of it’s kind to release sans keyboard, if true. Now, you’ll see a circle on the upper right side and IMO, it’s most likely just a proximity sensor. Now onto the Pre 3 that’s running on Verizon (picture after the break)....

It’s clear that everyone wants a tablet. Apple swung a huge hit with the original iPad last year, and more recently, the iPad 2. Google has now entered the competition with the Motorola Xoom and Android 3.0 “Honeycomb”. We’ve been using the Xoom for the past few days, so keep reading for our full review.

You may remember that iPhone 3G(S) lookalike, and now we know that it’s the Incredible 2 by HTC that’s headed to Verizon. AndroidSPIN got their hands on a few pictures of the device showing it’s Android 2.2 (2.3 on launch) with Sense OS running on it. No word on release date. Rumored specs below.

That’s it folks. Word is that there’s nothing really new on this one and the European version, besides this is said to be running the latest versions of Windows Phone 7, and also includes the newly implemented copy/paste function. Hopefully we’ll see this go official sometime soon.

Another day, another android device leaks out. First we have a button-less, iPhone 3GS, Droid Incredible mashup lookalike, which also has a nice Verizon logo on the top. This particular model does not include a front-facing camera that was present in an earlier mock-up, but it does include a dual-LED flash. And that’s about as much as we know.
Now, onto the second one. This one was spotted on a train and someone...

The Verizon iPhone. It’s here.
Verizon held a press conference in New York this morning, and they (along with Apple) announced the Verizon iPhone 4, which will be available early next month. According to Verizon’s Lowell McAdam, the talks about a CDMA iPhone began in 2008, and the phone has been in testing for an entire year that involved at least 1,000 prototypes.

I came across this article on The Consumerist and I thought you guys could appreciate a good laugh. Verizon sent the attached ad to a reader advertising coverage in more than 220 countries. There is a problem with that however. The UN only recognizes 192 countries and the US State Department recognizes 194. What’s the deal Verizon?

I saw an immediate problem when I opened the Motorola Droid for the first time. My first response was almost to put it back in the box and send it back for the same reason I was never interested in the iPhone when it first came out. It had no built in software for handling Microsoft Office files such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, not to mention PDF files. A serious PDA user interested in mobile productivity...
