Here’s another video from Sony Ericsson of the Xperia X10’s interface, which could possibly rival the HTC Hero’s Sense UI if it isn’t overcome by its own flashiness. The columns of scrolling contacts, cover art, and and applications are interesting but busy. Thank goodness the X10 is powered by the Snapdragon 1GHz processor to handle all the pretty flash of Sony’s Rachel UI. The large four-inch display, 8.1 megapixel camera with LED flash, and expandable memory definitely make this an Android device to almost rival the Motorola Droid, despite the Droid’s impressive 16 GB internal storage.

One of the features I liked best on the HTC Hero, and what looks to be apart of the Sony Ericsson X10, was the selective connectivity between contacts and their social networking accounts on Facebook and Twitter. Unlike a handset such as the INQ Mini 3G, where the phone experience almost completely disappears leaving just an extension, the X10 doesn’t seem to forget it’s a phone while confidently stepping into the digital camera, MP3 player realm, and social networking realm. February 2010 cannot get here fast enough. Check out the ad and a link to more photos of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 after the cut.

Days, weeks, and then months went by and the thing was still hiding out. When if finally did come out, many devices came and went and the Xperia X1 was no longer something I was looking forward to. In fact, I never got one to check out. I did have a couple opportunities at shows to play, but it was old hat by then. Why did I share all that? Well, because this is a blog and I like to share my opinions and experiences and it leads up to the “Newest Rumor” about a Windows Mobile OEM.

Apparently Eldar Murtazin, a well respected writer has some inside news that Sony-Ericsson will likely stop making WinMo devices after the X2.

SE denied to support WM in future, X2 possible the last one WM device (one more in development but could be canceled).Sales forecast is bad

That’s too bad, the build quality of the X1 was pretty good, just late to market.

They say they can’t wait to play with a final production unit so I guess you would have to assume that they were impressed. Are there flaws? Yup but you will just have to wait for their review to find out about them but in the meantime, check out their picture gallery by clicking on the picture above.
