Finding speakers for your Zune device is no easy task, because at the moment there simply aren’t that many options. However, there is some good news; I just got a hold of the Altec Lansing inMotion IM414V2 portable speakers, and was pleasantly surprised. Altec is certainly no newcomer to Zune products, with the M604 , and iM414v1 previously released and it’s evident in...

I just got an email from one of my long time YouTube viewers asking which I would choose and why.
I was just wondering, if you had to choose between the Zune HD and the Zune 120, which would you pick. Nobody could give me a decent answer. I’ve been watching your videos ever since the first Zune came out so i thought you would be able to give me an idea about which is better. Thanks!
I have already answered...

I admit it, as soon as they were available I raced to the Zune Marketplace and downloaded three of the new Zune HD games, very eager to see what Microsoft had chosen as the first proper showcase of the Zune HD’s Tegra powered game chops. So much time has been spent discussing the lack of Zune HD apps, I was thrilled to finally see if they would be worth all the sturm und drang about them.
I downloaded three to begin...

If you updated your Zune HD to v4.3 over the weekend, then head over to the Marketplace ASAP as Team Zune have a new crop of games for your downloading pleasure, and they are all FREE.
The newcomers include:
PGR: Ferrari Edition
Lucky Lane Bowling
Vans Sk8
Piano
Audio Surf: Tilt
All look very slick and I am downloading even as we speak. Hopefully I should have a first impression or two posted in the next couple...

Along with the Zune HD I received a few new cases to check out and sample. One case is the Jam Jacket CordSaver by DLO. Notice the ‘Designed for Zune’ logo. You can be sure that products carrying this logo have gone through strenuous product testing to ensure the item works properly, does not damage your Zune, and is of sufficient build quality…

So I’ve noticed for a while now, that when I look at the Zune 120 and HTC Diamond and the Zune HD and the HTC Diamond 2, I see a bit of a resemblance in the devices as far as hardware goes.

Ok, there were a couple errors in the prize fight, but that’s ok. There were some good points made supporting the Touch’s win. The biggest slip was saying that neither had an EQ. The Zune HD does have an EQ. The EQ is in the settings and has several preset EQ settings.
Thanks to Marques Lyons from Inside the Circle for the heads up about some Apple Fan Boy’s comment about the results. Here is AppleFanbot’s...

In my Zune HD review, reader Paul Johnson asked how the Zune HD handled direct sunlight and I realized that that was a very good question, and in fact I simply didn’t know the answer, as I tend to avoid the sunlight like a slug avoids salt. What’s more, that question seems to have become a point of conflict between iPod Fanboiz and Neo Maxi Zune Dweebies around the web. How does each device cope in the brutal glare...

I have gone crazy and put out 3 Zune HD videos over the weekend. You can check all three of them out in HD quality after the break. The 1st video is the unboxing and hardware comparison that I shared here already. The next one is a 30 minute software tour. I could have made the video 20 minutes, but I fumbled a couple times and it ran a little long. The last one is how to do a hard reset, wipe the device, and...

Just a simple, short video to show how to restart, power down, etc… I had to wipe this one for the winner of the contest anyhow, so why not right? Hope it helps someone.

Exhibit A:
8.44GB of a 16GB Zune filled by syncing all 96 of my Zune Social friends. Whoa. What’s that all about?
When you sync a friend, you get their Zune Card. You’ll be able to see all the playlists associated with the Zune Card and play the songs if they’re in your collection. The content associated with each friend might take up 100 MB or more.
Microsoft warns you, but why so much, what do you...

Let me 1st bring your attention to some serious coin being bid on an special edition Zune HD on ebay. I posted about this over on GotZune. Read my comments over there. I sincerely believe the seller is a MS employee and I am fairly sure that the Zune on Ebay won’t be sold for $10k. I assume it’s pranksters that have come over from Engadget. The bids were under $500 until late last night and then it just jumped up....

Yep. The red Zune that Adam posted about last week that finally hit Engadget yesterday, has a bid of $10,000 with 2 days left. 1st off, I am sure it’s bullshit. I seriously doubt that anyone is really going to pay that price. But, in the unlikely event that they are serious and they get wind of this site, I will gladly sell my prized Zune for 1/2 of that. That’s right, the elusive orange 30gb Zune for $5,000. Seriously.

Most of you probably know this already, but I also own Mobilitysite. That said, we have a couple items over at Mobilitysite related to Zune that I would like to link up this morning.
Mobilitysite Minute Podcast #47 – This is the 1st podcast since it went inactive 1 year 2 months ago. I talk with Steven “FYI Guy” Hughes about the Zune HD.
One of our lead authors on Mobilitysite has posted his impressions...

It is now a week to the day since I received my 32GB Zune HD via the friendly goblins at FedEx (see the details of that little adventure HERE) and in that time I have done my best to run it through it’s paces quite ruthlessly. Over the last week I have put in a good 40 hours of listening to MP3s and the radio, used the video quite extensively and tinkered with every menu and feature I could with out risking myself,...

Remember the conventional wisdom about Microsoft Customer Service: out of touch, unresponsive, outsourced to a galaxy far far away? It sounds like that, along with so much about the world’s number one software company, is changing.
When the first two generations of the Zune were released, I imagine much of the Zune Team mainly sat around like the Maytag Repairman due to poor sales, with little to do but read the tech...
